Khe Sanh Combat Base March 25, 2015

The Khe Sanh base can be visited for a $2 admission charge.  We visited there after our trainer class today and had a very nice description of the base and the war effort.  Most of the base is now overgrown by wilderness or coffee and banana plants. In a small museum on the base, historical pictures, weapons, and war relics can be seen. Additionally, abandoned helicopters, restored bunkers, and portions of the airstrip are visible. It was sobering for us as Warren & I remember well the stories of the war, the friends in the war, the friends lost in the war.  After spending so many years hearing about the DMZ and the 17th parallel and the war, it is strange to be here.
